Fairfield provides this program as an aid in gear calculations. Results are only as good as the engineer using it. The program performs the mathematics required to generate data necessary for application or manufacture of gears. It does not make intelligent design decisions therefore interpretation and use of results is the responsibility of the user.

History -- The Gear Design Software was developed by Fairfield beginning in 1968 and has been revised and fine tuned since that time. Seven versions, written in four different programming languages have been released over the years. Over 1000 copies have been distributed since 1990. Now the web version will allow us to maintain one set of code and it will always be the current software when accessed and used.
